Stroll through the new residential area in a relaxed atmosphere, meet people, listen to music, enjoy delicious delicacies and marvel at varied demonstrations - this is how the SPINELLI Fest last Saturday can be summed up.

In bright sunshine, the activities and information booths of the various stakeholders had spread out in front of the respective construction projects, so that around 1,000 guests were able to combine the celebration with the discovery of the quarter. The entertainment program with the "Street Magician Karma" from the Käfertal youth club, the street music of the pop duo "Zwischenzeit" and the singer and songwriter "Dominik Wrana" was also presented at changing locations.

Numerous children's activities such as a bobby car course or face painting made Alice-Droller-Straße the first port of call for young families. The street food stalls as well as the neighbourhood cake buffet were grouped in and around the green community courtyard on Leni-Neuenschwander-Straße. Also on the so-called Dreiecksplatz between SPINELLI and the TV Käfertal 1880 there were fine culinary offerings. The entertaining performances of the "Zumba Kids" of the TSV, the "Tanzloft Mannheim" and the neighborhood choir "Käfertal Süd meets SPINELLI" drew the audience to the central axis of Völklinger Straße. In addition to the MWSP, the project partners FRANKLIN Mobil and rnv provided information about their mobility offers for the new quarter. The sponsor of the first daycare center was already on site and had a nice range of games ready for the youngest guests.

The MWSP invited to two guided tours of the SPINELLI district, which were joined by numerous visitors. The contrast between the "historical" photographs from the beginning of the development and the modern, sustainably designed urban quarter that was created here in record time became particularly clear and inspired a subsequent visit to the five exhibition pavilions of SPINELLI NOW!. The almost completed 1st construction phase - it was a good reason for a successful SPINELLI Fest, which impressively showed that the living space has become a home within a few months.
